I was able to make another trip to the Marunuma Area – only this time it was nice & sunny!
Together with my colleagues/friends we tested out the summer luge.
Pick up one of the helmets before you get on the chair lift. While traveling up to the starting point, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the area. One can also hear and see the skiers and snowboarders shooting past on the green summer slope.
Riding the summer luge is fairly simple: sit and pull on the steering wheel to determine your speed & direction – the more you pull, the slower you go. At first a little practice and then off you go down the 800m course. Kumi & I raced down, wind blowing into our faces and our hair flying in the air. However, as we were a bit scared of being catapulted out of the bends, we did not reach the maximum speed of up to 40km/h. Atsuko, on the other hand, took it slow and enjoyed the light breeze & view.
